ACOUSTIC WAVE CELLULITE THERAPY

The only Medically  Proven Cellulite Therapy.

Acoustic Wave Therapy  has been used traditionally to provide excellent results in pain management for calcifications and soft tissue issues, such as: Shoulder pain, Tennis or Golfers Elbow, Patellar Tendonitis (jumpers knee), Shin pain / Tibial Stress Syndrome, Achilles tendon pain, Heel pain (Heel Spurs), Chronic neck, shoulder and back pain and Muscle tension caused by painful muscular nodules (trigger points)

The Discovery

It was during a treatment process for female athletes that the improvements in cellulite appearance were discovered by accident. A number of female athletes were undergoing treatment for torn and strained hamstrings with Acoustic Wave Therapy with the equipment and despite the original complaint being successfully resolved the patients kept returning for further treatment.

It was during these follow up sessions that it is was revealed that they were noticing a remarkable improvement in the appearance of cellulite and skin tightening.

The doctors treating the athletes were aware that Cellulite is a significant problem for women, which affected them on many levels, including their choice of everyday clothing, beachwear, self esteem and relationships.

The results were relayed to the manufacturer who then commissioned scientific studies utilising the patented technology, with truly remarkable results, not only in cellulite treatment but also in skin tightening and circumference reduction. We are genuinely excited to be able to make this exciting new treatment technology available to our clients.

Unlike many cosmetic treatments AWT does not destroy any tissue, but allows the body’s natural healing process to transform the skin elasticity and firmness whilst treating the multi-factorial problems which are the contributing factors of Cellulite.

Acoustic Wave Therapy is a completely non invasive treatment that treats the problems of Cellulite on multiple levels and that is why it is producing such impressive results as it is the only medical solution backed by over 60 years of research and development.

Some clinics in the USA are reporting an impressive 98% success rate, with results lasting six to twelve months before  maintenance sessions are required.

International music Celebrity Madonna was so impressed with the treatment results that she purchased her own treatment equipment.

The results of Acoustic Wave Therapy can be seen below.

Acoustic Wave Therapy is also effective in treating stretch marks. Acoustic wave therapy encourages the formation of new collagen within the skin, causing a thickening and firming effect within the skin.

The use of Acoustic Wave technology  for the  skin of the face to restore skin tightness and firmness is currently under testing. As soon as we are confident in the results of this therapy for the face we will make this available to our clients as an alternative to more invasive methods such as surgery.

How AWT Works in treating Cellulite

Acoustic Wave Therapy (AWT) sends sound shockwaves deep into the area of cellulite, transforming the connective tissue in these areas of the body, improving the skin’s appearance by:
Stimulating genesis of new collagen fibres in the deep layers of skin which increases its elasticity, producing increased vascularisation ensuring a better exchange process to the connective tissue.
The Acoustic Waves produced by the machine cause an inflammatory reaction that triggers the release of healing mediators, stimulating formation of new collagen which is deposited in the upper and mid portions of the skin.
Thereby the skin becomes more elastic and firmer and the results are a significant reduction in the dimpled effect of areas affected by cellulite.

The result is skin which is smooth and firmer and dimple free.

Treatment Sessions

The recommended number of sessions can vary between 10-12 sessions once or twice weekly. Each session will last approximately 20-30 mins and be performed by a trained clinician. The clinician will conclude the Acoustic Wave session with a gentle flushing massage to aid in removal of waste products from the area treated.

How Acoustic Wave Therapy changes the skin texture:

Enlarged fat cells push the skin up and compress the circulatory system, reducing inflow of nutrients and outflow of waste products. Diminished exchanges in circulation<br>
lead to a gradual stiffening of the connective tissue, pulling down on the skin. The push/pull effect creates the appearance of cellulite.

The mechanical action of AWT:– Disrupts the connective tissue to firm and smooth the skin.– Causes neo-vascularisation, improving circulatory exchanges (the root cause of the problem).– Initiates an inflammatory process in the skin, leading to thicker, more elastic skin through collagen production.

The elasticity of the connective tissue is restored and the skin is smoother. The skin is thicker and more elastic with noticeable improvement in the skin’s texture.
